· Start up 1. Domain name registration: annual fee is based on selected service. Generally prices range between $9.99 and upwards. 2. Hosting: In order for your website to be published on the Internet, you must have a server. Most companies and individuals do not have their own servers. The most popular option is to contract with a hosting company that will ‘lease’ space to you on their servers. Prices range from as low as $6.99 a month to $40.00 or more depending on the space needed and the services provided. 3. Maintenance: Every website needs to be updated and maintained to ensure that it is functioning properly and service is uninterrupted. Furthermore, studies show that a in order to generate repeat business and maintain customer's interest, you must keep your content fresh and current. Generally, there are two ways that this can be done. You can purchase the HTML editing program such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver and do it yourself at home or at the office, or you can hire a third party to perform these services for you. Prices are negotiable and can be based on one monthly update or revision, or unlimited updates and/or revisions. · Pre-production 1. Research associated with product design: The more information you provide concerning your business and your market the more cost efficient your website will be. Sometimes, however, research is necessary or unavoidable. Four Streams provides this service as part of the package price providing that it can be conducted in a reasonable amount of time. Extensive research will translate into a higher price tag. 2. Text Composition/Editing. Four Streams provides basic text composition and/or editing as part of the package price. However, lengthy, technical and more complex compositions will require additional time, therefore, additional pricing. Price will be determined on a case by case basis. 3. Graphics Design. This is the heart of web design. Your website should be visually appealing to the eye and should provide ease of navigation. Prospective clients are easily discouraged by sites that are cumbersome to navigate and/or unappealing to the eye. The ‘architecture’ of the page is a combination of relevant content, functionality, and most of all, dynamic art that captures the attention of the visitor and inspires them to stay and explore your site. The longer a visitor stays, the higher the chances they will make a purchase decision in your favor. Each package that is offered includes the basic logo banner, links and layout. However, alternate banners, additional graphics and dynamic web elements such as rollovers or animations are not included in this price. Please let your designer know what you would like to add and they will give you an estimate based on your needs and budget. Rest assured that Four Streams will always aim to provide you with highly competitive prices and respect the resources you have allocated to this project. Photos or graphics you provide for the website will be added at no additional cost. However, you must present them on CD or disk form, or e-mail them to your designer.
